Except for the baths, ALL rooms have ceiling fans.

One and a half baths, plus an outdoor shower
There is a full bath upstairs, finished in knotty pine paneling.  This bath has a large skylight, an over sized soaker tub with shower and a double-sink vanity.

There's a powder room off the kitchen on the first floor.   In addition, there’s an enclosed private outdoor shower (yes, WITH hot water) at the front of the unit.  Kids, in particular seem to enjoy that shower.

Three Season Porch
There is an enclosed porch at the back of the unit, with a spectacular view of the tidal pond.  The windows slide down to convert the enclosure into a screened porch. Check the photos - the porch is one of the nicest features or attractions of this town home.  There is a TV and speakers from the stereo, as well as a table, 4 chairs, a sofa, coffee table and ceiling fan.  Enjoy your morning coffee, with the ducks on the lake.

The Kitchen

The kitchen has everything you’d expect:

·       Breakfast bar with two stools

·       Refrigerator with ice-maker in the freezer

·       Pots, pans, glasses, flatware, plates, cups, glasses, utensils, can opener, cork screw, etc.

Living and Dining Room

The living room has a wood-burning fireplace, sleeper-sofa, futon and coffee table.  There’s also cable TV, DVD & VHS player, and stereo with CD, radio and tape player.  There are some DVDs and VCR tapes for both the kids and the grown-ups.   There are some best-seller books if you need a "beach read," or some board games and jig saw puzzles.

In the Dining area, there’s an oak table with seating for 6.

Other Amenities
There is one assigned parking space in front of the unit and additional unassigned spaces nearby.  There’s a large canoe available at the unit – three person/660 pound capacity. Paddle around, enjoy the lake. Use the Personal Flotation Devices - There are 3 adult (over 90 lbs.), one child-medium (50-90 lbs.), and one child-small (30-50 lbs.) available in the storage shed at the unit.

The unit has central air conditioning and six ceiling fans. Of course, there's also heat for the off-season.  There is an electric grill, sand and beach chairs and boogie boards in the storage shed at the front of the unit for your use.

There is a stack washer and dryer (and detergent), however the washer is “apartment size.” Doing large amounts of laundry would be time consuming.

Mallard Lakes has:
Two outdoor swimming pools, (this unit is located BETWEEN the two pools, they’re BOTH very close), a hot tub/Jacuzzi and kid’s wading area (both at the front pool), three tennis courts, playgrounds and tot-lot, basketball, volleyball and shuffleboard courts, exercise trails.

Pool Hours 2011

June 11 to Sept 6   -  Open 10 - 8   Both Pools
Sept   7 to Sept 19 -  Open 12 - 6   Front Pool, only

There are five lakes/ponds at Mallard Lakes.  Casa de Paz is on the largest lake, a salt-water, tidal pond with three wildlife sanctuary islands.  The lakes are stocked for fishing and crabbing.  ALL lake access is a ‘common area’ for the condominium complex, so feel free to walk around the lakes and explore. There is no swimming in the lakes, so use the pools… or the ocean.   There are picnic tables and charcoal grills available in a nearby common area, in addition there’s a large electric, kettle style George Foreman grill at the unit.   (Other charcoal and gas grills are NOT allowed at Mallard Lakes.)

Mallard Lakes is located two miles west of Coastal Highway on Delaware Route 54, also called Lighthouse Road.  This is right at the Delaware - Maryland line.  It's about a half hour to the Delaware Outlets, with tax-free shopping.  The popular restaurant, Smitty McGee's is located directly across from the entrance to Mallard Lakes - an easy walk.

WI-FI
- The owner has arranged for internet access at the unit.  Log-on information in the unit. WI-FI is also available at both pools.

Ocean Access – The Atlantic Ocean is about two miles from Mallard Lakes.  When you drive in Lighthouse Road, you reach Coastal Highway about at the Delaware/Maryland line.  On the MARYLAND SIDE of the state line, there is FREE parking in the “beach block” (the last block before the ocean).  You will “almost always” find a spot between 142nd Street and 145th Street  (4 blocks from Lighthouse Road).  On the weekend, just plan to go a little earlier. Parking is restricted on the Delaware side. If you prefer the boardwalk along with the beach, the OC boardwalk extends from the inlet up to 28th Street.
