This rental is truly - A House of Peace
It's a FABULOUS rental unit in the Mallard Lakes development in West Fenwick Island DE. Yeah, I'm biased, but just look at the pictures below. It's on the largest lake (a salt water, tidal pond) at Mallard Lakes with a water view, including the wildlife sanctuary island. It's the top rental at Mallard Lakes. The herons come to this edge of the lake to fish, along with the egrets, ducks and geese. Much less often the bald eagles from a nest in Bethany Beach stop by to fish. Most of the other rentals at Mallard Lakes are on the smaller "ponds" and they don't necessarily get the wildlife.
Well, duh?! Because it IS just so peaceful there. No kiddin'! On the drive home from Mallard Lakes and Fenwick Island, I was thinking about what to name the rental "cottage." In thinking about it, the feeling I have when I'm there is always how peaceful it is. The picture above is the view from the back yard and there are more photos in the album below - but the flicks don't do it justice. I'll just say that when I'm there on the back porch overlooking the lake - there's a lot that's right with the world. If you decide to rent it, you'll feel the same.
A Perfect Getaway
Mallard Lakes is a relaxing retreat just 2 miles west of Fenwick Island Delaware. It's a great place to rent at the Delaware Shore - at the northern end of Ocean City, Maryland. From Mallard Lakes, you can walk to nearby Smitty McGee's for a drink and dinner. …Or head on into town, for the OCEAN, sandy beaches, the Boardwalk, and all that OC has to offer... you'll find bike rentals, cotton candy, or restaurants like Seacrets Bay Side, Harpoon Hannas, Phillips and many others. Of course, there are golf courses nearby for the duffers. But before you rush off to town, check out Mallard Lakes. You'll see great blue herons and egrets wading or ducks swimming in the lake at the back door. Under the back porch, there's a canoe (with personal flotation devices) so you can paddle around the lake. Of course that's included with your rental. ...Mallard Lakes also has two swimming pools, a hot tub, three tennis courts, a tot-lot and playgrounds, basketball, shuffleboard and volleyball courts, exercise trails for walking or biking. The lakes offer fishing and crabbing, again it's all part of your rental.
Leave your watch at home, get away to the shore... to a world of warmth and relaxation. Listen to the hypnotic rhythm of the waves and feel the mist of the warm seawater as it splashes and gurgles onto the sandy beach. Dig your toes into the warm and soothing sand ...And enjoy a good book. There are some 'beach reads' available at this rental unit.
